To the Girl Who Feels Like She is Behind in Life,
Every time I open up Facebook, someone is engaged, got married, pregnant, or just had a baby. No joke. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes I get upset and feel bad that I am not at the same part of life as everyone else. Although I don’t think I am ready to be married, or start having a family, I get the feeling that I am behind and not participating in something that I “should” be doing. I didn’t grow up in church. The only time I went to church as a young kid was VBS for a week every summer. In fifth grade, I had a friend who invited me to go to church with her and after a couple years, we stopped being friends and I honestly learned nothing. I went for social reasons. A few years later my boyfriend, at the time, asked me to go to church with him. After a year going with him and breaking up and still going to church, I realized something. I realized I was a sinner who needed a savior. In November of 2012, I accepted Christ as my savior and the past few years have been nothing but a learning experience. I have learned a few things about myself and the world from being the only one in my immediate family that attends church and want to share it with you whether you have been in church your whole life, or in a situation similar to mine.

Turkey. Dressing. Cranberry sauce. Broccoli and rice casserole. Homemade rolls. PUMPKIN PIE! Y’all, it’s that time. Now, I really do love the food on Thanksgiving, but I always seem to forget the reason we celebrate it. I get so caught up in arranging my plate to fit the most food possible, that I forget to think about all the things I have in my life that are absolutely amazing. Because of that, I wanted to actually sit and think about the wonderful things I have been given. As many people do this time of year, I decided to talk about some of the things I am thankful for.
