I walked across the stage at my college graduation two weeks ago! What the heck!? The main expression I feel when thinking about this is how did time go so fast!? However, another question also haunts me: “What am I doing and where am I going now?” I have experienced joy, fear, anxiety, and many other emotions that past few weeks because I am excited for the future, but also scared out of my mind.

Last week I discussed my process of changing my major throughout the past few years. Next weekend I will be walking the stage with a bachelor’s in communication and think it is crazy that I am FINALLY at this point in my life. Communication was my last choice, as we saw last week, and I was not always happy with my degree choice, but there are a few reasons why I am thankful to have studied communication.

To the Girl Who Feels Like She is Behind in Life,
Every time I open up Facebook, someone is engaged, got married, pregnant, or just had a baby. No joke. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes I get upset and feel bad that I am not at the same part of life as everyone else. Although I don’t think I am ready to be married, or start having a family, I get the feeling that I am behind and not participating in something that I “should” be doing. Turkey. Dressing. Cranberry sauce. Broccoli and rice casserole. Homemade rolls. PUMPKIN PIE! Y’all, it’s that time. Now, I really do love the food on Thanksgiving, but I always seem to forget the reason we celebrate it. I get so caught up in arranging my plate to fit the most food possible, that I forget to think about all the things I have in my life that are absolutely amazing. Because of that, I wanted to actually sit and think about the wonderful things I have been given. As many people do this time of year, I decided to talk about some of the things I am thankful for.
